From Obama's 1st press conference:
It's the family's second criteria that may be the more difficult one to fulfill. Obama said the family would prefer to adopt a puppy from an animal rescue shelter."But obviously, a lot of shelter dogs are mutts like me," said Obama in a self-deprecating reference to his father from Kenya and mother from Kansas. "So whether we're going to be able to balance those two thing, I think, is a pressing issue on the Obama household."
Ginga and Booboo are nodding along: yep, we are all mutts.

I can't claim to be, genetically, but I count because of all the places I've lived in.
i was in the elevator the other day with a daschund pup and i had to ask the owner- is he hypoallergenic? yes, that term has really seeped into the national mindset here, much like social security and health care.
I always wonder: this cat is so fat, yet she manages to be so graceful all the time (except when she falls from chairs)...
I'm a mutt too, and so is my adopted brother, Salvador - http://www.flickr.com/photos/georgiap/3199305635/in/set-72157610466441621/
