Spring is in the air

...and BooBoo says HI! Those are some intense eyes, BooBoo.

Here's looking at you, kid

Ginga wants to serve and protect like his german shepherd ancestors. The birds are not a threat to us, Ginga.
Protect. Serve. Eat.

BooBoo also decided that looking at us would not get him any treats. But sitting down and staring at the birds might get him an off-leash experience.
Those birds look tasty

The fat cat is trying to lose weight !!!

Or I am trying to make her lose weight. Though instead she is loosing it. She is so cranky that she sratches my wall, doorframe, carpet. And she would grab my arm and bite it. I don't think she really wants to eat me but just to tell me she is hungry. With all that she doesn't even look or weight any thinner!?? It's so not worth it. I am starting to think like the CC's and blame the apartment, since I am also fat and cannot lose any weight (well not really trying..) either. Now as I am typing kitty starts to bite the screen. Oh... now she just lays down and uses my keyboard as her pillow. That's so cute, but I don't think she likes the noises.

p.s. I hope we can take her "before" and "after" shots for some diet pet food ads at some point.....

Old Ginga Pics

(See: ginga's so happy that he is wagging his tail at an incredible speed!)

Ginga before and after hearing the magic words (Peepee Poopoo, go outside?)

Ginga playing with snow. He's pretty good at snowfight, you can almost never hit him with a ball of snow (except when he thinks its being thrown at him to jump and catch it...)

Life with 2 doggies

Life's like this with 2 doggies:

1. When one behaves like an angel the other one behaves like the devil. 5 minutes later they switch.

2. A dog is man's best friend. 2 dogs means one of them loves the other more than he loves you *sniff

3. You only have to clean one dog's ears. The other one gets all the yummy ear wax licked off by the first one.

4. You thought you had to vacuum a lot with the first one. The second one quadruples the amount of hair lying around.

5. They get away with any sort of trash raiding and other such illegal activities - you can never tell who did it.

6. They thrive on each other's excitement. This involves them hurtling into you and your sensitive electronic equipment faster and decibel levels reaching heights that even Beethoven couldn't stand, despite his deafness.

7. The insult of one peeing on the other can be rectified only by the act of the victim covering the offender's pee with his own.

8. The distance from strangers where they will start wrestling with each other and growling loudly is inversely proportional to the amount of fear the strangers have for them.

9. He who eats slower gives the appearance of eating more to the other one. This is an important step of high status.

10. Begging for table scraps is a social activity that must be performed with all four-leggeds in a synchronised manner.

11. Chasing rabbits and squirrels is also a social activity that must be performed in a synchronised manner.

12. BooBoo to Ginga - "Hey, the two-leggeds are coming. You jump, I'll bark."

13. Ginga to BooBoo - "There's a nice piece of grass. I think I'll go and sniff it." (Yes, before you ask... G would say the same thing if you substitute _ for gr).

14. You would think they would keep each other amused. But no, they look to the humans for entertainment. Doggies, we're just not that smart to come up with new games every day. Oh, treats are an OK replacement?

More about Ginga's Origins....

Ginga was found on the net by his first mom (thanks to modern technology), after searching lot of dog pictures on famous pet listing sites she came across a cute puppy pic from South Bend, IN. I think it said only $49.99( actually its a measure owners use protect their dogs from being sold for experiments to labs by some ppl) . So we drove to south bend. To our surprise there were a lot more dogs than we had imagined. We even met his mother and other brother and sisters, there were lots of them from the family we got ginga. We were presented with 2 choices one was ginga and the other his mirror lookalike brother. Ginga was more friendly and playful.

ginga is a German Shepherd ( ithink his mother was the shepherd) and Golden retriever mix (no he does not have any beaggle or chiuwaha in him). although one can argue abt that based on his short legs.

Since he was only 3-4 mnths old, and it was winter, if we took him outside he use to start shaking bcoz of the cold, so his mother use to put him in her jacket and zip it up with only his head sticking out ( he was not 30 kgs and dint find playing in snow blizzards fun then).

He kept making puppy crying noises for many days and we felt really bad that he was seperated from his family. He was really cute and his puppy eyes could melt anything...

Origins of Ginga

Ginga and Boo welcome Ginga's ex-daddy Daisuke as a guest writer on the blog. Here is his first post:

Origins of Ginga: Ginga is a from a far far away land called south bend in indiana where he had many brothers and sisters and a mom. He was only 3 or 4 months old then. His friendly personality stood out amongst his siblings. We were immediately melted by his cuteness. So we put him in our car. He cried all the way to W laf and for few more days... he really missed his mom and family. But soon ginga mixed up with us and became a integral part of our family... His name was decided from the famous Japaneses Anime called "GINGA", story of an Akita Inu pup called Gin (Japanese for "silver") who leaves his owner, a young boy named Daisuke, to join a pack of wild dogs. The pack is gathering strong dogs from all over Japan to fight a deranged bear named Akakabuto and his minions... (although i am not sure if ginga is on such a mission looking at his fitness and reading abt his eating habits)..more abt ginga's life before joining the new family...
